Multimedia

I use a variety of materials emphasizing light. At the same time, I try to integrate light with many materials instead of having light dominate the piece. But of course that's easier said than done.

One constant element in my mixed media work is neon. Sometimes I try to hide the neon so that only its effects are shown. And other times I copperplate the neon to get away from the round precision of a tube of light. I also blow glass vessels of different shapes, sizes, colors and elements. Then I weld an ordinary neon tube electrode onto the glass and pump one or more different rare gases into it, producing a unique light piece where there is some kind of ever-changing activity going on inside the piece... Always experimenting for a new discovery.

The steel pedestals are a combination of found objects welded and polished out with two-way mirrors and neon added to produce a functional piece.
A great way to display my blown glasswork and very hard to steal.

Be aware that new pieces are made daily, so they are not always on my web site.
